Taliban leader, Hibatullah Akhundzada, issued a new decree barring Afghan women from attending medical institutions. This order effective cut off the last avenue for higher education to Afghan women.

The Taliban’s Ministry of Economics ordered all national and international organizations, excluding Taliban affiliated organizations, to suspend their female employees. Any organization that violates the directive risks having its license revoked, the statement added.

Shopkeepers in Takhar province were instructed to refrain from speaking with women during transactions.

The Vice and Virtue authorities of the Taliban banned organ transplants. In a statement, Taliban officials referenced Article 18 of the Prevention of Vice and Promotion of Virtue law, reaffirming the ban.

The Taliban issued a directive to all public universities requiring all women administrative employees to step down and be replaced by men. The order mandates implementation within three days.

In suburban Kabul, the morality police, or Vice and Virtue inspectors, ordered public transport drivers to stop carrying men and women together. The directive strictly prohibits men and women from traveling in the same vehicle.

The Taliban leader ordered that new buildings must not have windows overlooking neighboring properties. Homeowners of existing homes must build a wall or take measures to protect the privacy of female family members.
